An angry fairy who was not invited to the royal feast puts a curse on the little princess, and on her fifteenth birthday she pricks her finger on a spindle and falls asleep for a hundred years, together with the whole castle. When the hundred years are over, the thorny hedge turns into flowers for a brave prince, and his gentle kiss wakes the princess and everyone around her.

Long ago, a king and queen wished for a child for many years, and at last a baby princess was born. The happy king held a great feast and invited the fairies of the kingdom to bless her. One by one they gave their gifts: beauty, kindness, a lovely voice and a happy heart.
